Our research group has been involved in the following technology platforms, standards bodies and research networks:
Our research group is member of the Networked European Software and Services Initiative and actively participates in the Service Oriented Infrastructure Working Group. The aim of this group is to define a detailed research agenda, to be contributed to the NESSI SRA, on new generation of ITC infrastructures that will support development and execution of component services and their provision as utilities, including areas such as service abstraction and virtualisation, stable and safe architectures, service management and utility computing. Our group is one of the main contributors of this working group.
Our group have participated in several Open Grid Forum events, co-chairing several OGF sessions and contributing to the following WGs: DRMAA-WG, JSDL-WG, GSA-RG, GRIDCPR-WG,and GRIDVIRT-WG; and have contributed to start the OCCI (Open Cloud Computing Interface) Working Group.
The Globus Alliance is an international collaboration that conducts research and development to create fundamental Grid technologies. The Grid lets people share computing power, databases, and other on-line tools securely across corporate, institutional, and geographic boundaries without sacrificing local autonomy. The Globus community (the “Globus Alliance”) established in October 2005 a new source code development infrastructure and meritocratic governance model, which together make the process by which a developer joins the Globus community both easier and more transparent.
