Innovative Technologies

Our group founded the following innovative open-source technologies:

OpenNebula

OpenNebula is an open-source project delivering a simple but feature-rich and flexible solution to build and manage enterprise clouds and virtualized data centers. In 2008, OpenNebula was the first open-source cloud management platform and now it operates as an open-source collaborative effort with a wide community behind.

It has over 100,000 downloads and several hundreds of users in industry, like Akamai, and research, like Leibniz Supercomputing Center. Some of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world, with 300,000 cores and 16 data centers, run OpenNebula as their cloud management platform.

GridWay

The GridWay Metascheduler enables large-scale, reliable and efficient sharing of computing resources (clusters, computing farms, servers, supercomputers…), managed by different LRMS (Local Resource Management System), such as PBS, SGE, LSF, Condor…, within a single organization (enterprise grid) or scattered across several administrative domains (partner or supply-chain grid).

GridWay is a Globus project, adhering to Globus philosophy and guidelines for collaborative development and so welcoming code and support contributions from individuals and corporations around the world.
